Serving in the tiles field as a ceramic engineer for more than 40 years, Mr. Satish Rathore was doing a successful career. Nevertheless, such desires as contributing to environmental conservation were still living in his heart. Eventually, he found the solution to satisfy these feelings by becoming a volunteer at the CATCH Foundationin 2019. In this way, Mr. Satish Rathore started a new period of his life related to nature.
A New Opportunity with CATCH
A chance to interact with people who had the same appreciation of the world as me and who were involved in its protection and preservation — at CATCH Foundation, I found the perfect invitation to serve my lifelong goal and preserve the environment. Looking back at my experience, I feel very fortunate to have become a part of it.
Contributing to the Cause
For the three years that Mr. Rathore worked with CATCH, he was part of numerous contributions of various projects:
-
Thermocol Recycling: Since thermocol is hazardous to the environment, CATCH undertook to have them recycled by specially preparing them. Notably, thermocol is not biodegradable. Since it cannot be naturally absorbed back to the earth, consideration of a different means of destruction was paramount. Mr. Rathore was instrumental in the collection and delivering of the unwanted materials to CATCH. For the three years, he monitored the preparations for the recycling of the materials.
-
Awareness on Single-Use Plastics: Besides, Mr. Rathore served at CATCH as the ambassador of awareness of the interactions of single-use plastics to the environment. Through the provision of various materials of learning and organizing functions and events, he spent much time in trying to inform the public on the menace of plastics.
- Plantenance: As part of CATCH's ongoing efforts to enhance green spaces, Mr. Rathore was deeply involved in plantation drives. He recalls the joy and fulfillment of planting trees and nurturing them to grow, contributing to the creation of lush, thriving ecosystems.
A Fulfilling Journey
Looking back on his experience with CATCH Foundation, Mr. Rathore feels an overwhelming sense of fulfillment. His journey from a ceramic engineer to an environmental volunteer has been nothing short of transformative. Through his contributions, he has not only made a positive impact on the environment but also inspired others to join the cause.
Mr. Rathore's story is a testament to the power of following one's passion and the profound difference it can make. As he continues his work with CATCH, he remains committed to the foundation's mission, driven by a deep-rooted love for nature and a desire to leave a lasting impact of conservation for future generations.
